Getting Your Home Ready For Fall
We’ve already had days in Bucks County where it’s been a little cooler than others, which only means one thing – fall is coming!
This is the best time of the year to get your home and it’s outdoor surroundings ready for the upcoming winter months. Here are some things you will want to check around your home, and outside, to ensure you have a safe and warm winter season.
Outside:
Clean out your gutters and downspouts.
Check your steps and sidewalks for cracks.
Close the shut-off valves that provide water to your outside faucets, and open the faucet to allow any water to escape so it won’t freeze.
Check the weather stripping around the outside of your windows for cracks.
Inside:
If you own a wood-burning fireplace, have the chimney inspected and swept.
Ensure all smoke detectors are working properly.
Replace your home’s air filter.
