The best part about Washington Crossing is….
Located in Upper Makefield Township, Washington Crossing is best known for it’s historical aspects. The first president of the United States, George Washington, crossed the Delaware River in 1776 during the Revolutionary War right in Washington Crossing. There are so many other great things about Washington Crossing however – such as great restaurants, and an historical park.
When you visit Washington Crossing, you must visit Washington Crossing Historical Park, which is a 500-acre park hosting 13 historical buildings. It is a wonderful and beautiful place to take a leisurely stroll on a Saturday afternoon, and is also home to Bowman’s Hill Wildflower Preserve.
After working up an appetite, enjoy some of the local restaurants Washington Crossing has to offer! The Washington Crossing Inn is located in a preserved 1817 home and offers a delicious menu with scenic views. Francisco’s On The River appeals to those looking for Italian and/or Mediterranean dishes, and is conveniently located between Washington Crossing and New Hope.
