Weekend Events in Bucks County February 28 through March 2
The snow and ice will once again be making an appearance here in Bucks County. If you’re like me, you just want to get outside and enjoy a little bit of fresh air before you’re snowed into your home again. Here are some places you can visit this weekend – hope you enjoy them and have a great weekend!
Playing Together
Through May 15th
Monday through Saturday – 10:00 am until 5:00 pm
Mercer Museum, Doylestown
Kids of all ages can enjoy exploring and playing games from the 1800’s and early 1900’s. There are games of strategy, luck, math and even ones with physical coordination – not to mention the oversized chess board with giant playing pieces. Your children will make new friends, learn cooperation and build skills, as they learn what games were like “in the old days”. Contact the Mercer Museum for more information at 215-345-0210.
Maple Sugar Festival
Saturday, March 1st
11:00 am until 1:00 pm
Peace Valley Nature Center in Doylestown
Learn how maple syrup is harvested and how it was made during pioneer days. You will travel to the sugar bushes, harvest the sap, and bring it back so it can be turned into delicious maple syrup. You will also be given the chance to try both the sap and syrup to taste the difference. There is no fee, but donations will graciously be accepted. For more information, visit their website or call 215-345-7860.
Drum Circle
Saturday, March 1st
6:30 pm until 8:30 pm
Greenshire Arts Consortium, Quakertown
Calling all drummers or those who have always wanted to learn the art of drumming! You are invited you to join the drum circle each Saturday at Greenshire Arts Consortium from 6:30 until 8:30 pm – all are welcome! Learn to drum using meditation practices, using drums, rattles and shakers. You may rent a drum for $5 or bring your own – and the fee to join the circle is $20.
